My love for Mosaic Art

I fell in love with the art of mosaics at a very young age. On a trip to Italy as a young person I visited the Vatican and did much of the sightseeing that people do, but I was mesmerized by the mosaic art I saw. I photographed it wherever I went and scoured bookstores looking to study the art of mosaic.

Before Google was invented, I had to rely on dusty shelves in libraries and ordering forgotten texts in bookstores to study techniques. Being an artist and an art student helped me understand the intricacies and the draftsmanship needed to create this art form. I bought my own nippers and a few commercial tiles and created my first mosaic next to my kitchen sink! My journey with hand cut tile mosaic had begun.

I love creating mosaics and my goal is to create the perfect design for my client. I go through the procedure of creating a mock design and refining it painstakingly and as close to the client’s vision as it can be.
